This game is well presented as a movie, and also makes a lot of nods to famous ‘car’ movies and tv shows of the 70s. The cut scenes are excellent and the visuals in game are quite nice and glitch free. The cars are alll licensed, real-world cars (unlike GTA series). They all handle and sound different, but all have to be driven in a ‘hollywood style’, eg sideways through every corner and in the air over every bump. This is good for tooling around, but when you are under pressure to complete the tasks, it's kinda annoying. There are a few side missions to do in addition to the main story, which are all very similar. The story itself is weird, but fits in well to the game. You can shift to any car nearby which ups the frantic nature of the driving. The collectors edition includes a model car, which looks very accurate 70 challenger in 1/32 scale, but is a lighter yellow than the one in game! the only problems I had was dealing with Ubisoft's control software, which is more annoying than anything else, requiring an internet connection to ubisoft so they can keep track of you (i can't see any other justification for it).
Overall an enjoyable game with lots of classic and modern cars and trucks.
Great game, brings driver back to actual driving and has no feel of a GTA
clone. Story is a bit silly, but gameplay more than makes up for it. Licensed
cars are also a plus (though the damage modeling seems toned down at times from
Driv3r. Always on DRM has also been removed (only needs a check at install time,
which is standard and not too bad)
The model is somewhat fragile, the spoiler on it is prone to breaking or
becoming unglued very easily and the box can sometimes trick you into picking it
up in a very very very bad way (always grab the base, else the box will fall
away and you will hurt your toes)
Yes, amazing game, model looks quite good. Good purchase, especially if
on sale!
Runs well, looks and sounds great. Quite a good variety of cars to unlock,
not that you'd want to drive all of them but they are there and detailed. The
ability to “posess” other drivers and use other vehicles to your advantage
is a great innovation in this genre of game. It opens up more strategies for you
than just “drive fast”, or “ram your oponents” (though there is still
plenty of that).
The collectors edition with the model and the fold out map is a nice touch. The
model can sit on a shelf for years with other ones that many guys would have
anyway.
The cars handle great. The chase modes are awesome. Graphics nice. I should give it five stars but it might go to their heads. PS. Works great with my Momo.
This game is great fun and has a lot of value. The writers have a great sence of humour and the gameplay is spot on . I am using my xbox360 wireless controller with this game which is ok however I am disappointed that my G27 wheel won't work with this game . With enough G27 complaining on the net I am sure they will bring out a patch …hopefully. I have had a lot of fun with this game and has lots of challenges and subgames to keep you busy for hours. I have most of the big driving games out there but I find this one the most fun. Grafics pretty good and runs smoothly on my PC.The bonus model was neat and takes pride in place in my man cave room .Wife wants a car like Tanners for real now LOL. Mighty Ape were super fast as usual with delivery making my weekend off the gardening duties and into the driving mode. Cheers :)
