Description

Dark Void is a new sci-fi action-adventure game that combines an adrenaline-fuelled blend of aerial and on-foot combat set in a parallel universe called “The Void”. Players will take on the role of Will; a pilot dropped into incredible circumstances. While on a routine air cargo flight his plane crashes in the Bermuda triangle leading him to be trapped in the Void. This unlikely hero soon finds himself swept into a desperate struggle for survival at the head of a group called The Survivors. Caught in the Void, these resistance fighters are battling to hold off a mysterious alien race that plans to threaten Earth.

Dark Void’s unique combination of in-air and on-ground combat creates a thrilling new gameplay dynamic to the third-person shooter experience. Taking 3D action to a whole new level, Dark Void’s vertical combat system allows players to dangle from thousand foot drops as they take cover and drop enemies from above and below, bringing a whole new sense of vulnerability and thrill to the player. Defying gravity in vertical combat is only half the battle as, over time, Will is upgraded to a powerful rocket pack which allows for fierce in-air combat as gamers are able to fly through the void at unparallel speeds shooting down anything that gets in their path. Blasting away at massive bosses has never been this much fun as Dark Void offers a unique grip system made up of a variety of grip-based mini-games including skyjacking UFOs mid-flight.

Features:
  • Sci-Fi Action-Adventure combines aerial and on-foot combat for unparallel 3D third-person shooter experience
  • Gravity-defying vertical combat system where moving up is the only way to bring your enemies down
  • Unique grip system that allows the players to scale walls jumping from surface to surface or hijack UFO’s while in mid-air
  • Explosive hover and rocket pack and special in-air moves allow players to fly with reckless abandon while performing hair-raising stunts
  • The Void- a mind-bending parallel world where an evil alien race called, “The Watchers” are waiting…
  • Mysterious thought-provoking storyline based on conspiracy theory and strange phenomenon
  • Main character, Will, is a regular pilot turned unlikely superhero in a wild ride to save humanity

5 stars "A highly under rated game "

Dark Void gives you a taste of whats to come from the moment you start the campaign (its sorta like a ninja tutorial, you didn't even know it was there until you finished:) a great tactic on the developers part.

Dark void doesn't take itself to seriously and its a very entertaining game, something to play on your weekend without feeling like your just wasting time, combat is simple but fun and never frustrating.

For those of you who graphics conscious they are similar to Tomb Raider Underworld on the PC so with that style in mind characters are highly detailed and animated if not better than the above game, the environments could be more detailed but aren't ugly, this isn't Crysis after all.

Linear- Its an adventure/action game get over it and Enjoy

4 stars "An novel and fun shooter"

Yeah I was unsure about this game after reading reviews but found it was a fun shooter with the jetpack adding a great element to it. Gfx are good if more the cartoonish style.
Story and music was great – elements reminded me of Battlestar Galactica and Uncharted as it's composed by Bear McCreary for the music and voiced by Nolan North
Overall a recommended game especially on discount.

4 stars "A great game with several different elements"

I had heard mixed reviews about this game but after playing it myself I was fairly impressed. Flying around with the jetpack was fun enough but when you add battle scenes to this mix it makes it even better. Hanging under ledges while shooting at your opponents in multiple directions was also lots of fun. Definetly a different spin on your usual shooter. Over all I would say this game is seriously underated. The only down side would be a few too many in between scenes and could have been a bit longer gameplay time.

3 stars "Jet pack's, guns & firefights. What's not to like."

Flight controls could use some work, other than that this game contains a decent story line & some decent in-game action.

4 stars "Unexpected Adventures and Excitement"

I agree that the game is hard to play on pc but after playing it for at least an hour you can easily catch on to how it plays. Very interesting game indeed. Love the new tactical angles and climbing up walls etc it's new and exciting.
