Company of Heroes Collector's Edition reviews

Its hard to find any fault with this game. A must add to any RTS fans collection. The destructible environment is amazing, with little details like blowing up a crater in the middle of the road can provide better cover for your troops. The sound of the troops marching across the battlefield e.g. “Tie your f*cking shoelaces Conrad”… awesome.

This game is quite possibly the first strategy game that you really feel like you are experiencing the war. (maybe excluding total war series)

Graphics are amazing (for SLI users make sure to get the patch to fix the slow down bugs) and realistic.
Great sound effect and excellent voice acting from units (Germans speak Germans) make you feel like war is actually happening.

Buildings and landscapes are completely destructible. Often after you finish a mission, its not uncommon to found out once a beutiful town become in ruins.

Resource system is similar to WarHammer Strategy game, but more complex and requires a lot more thinking.

Single player is great and long, multiplayer and skirmish is very enjoyable as well.

Only problem is you need a relatively high end system to run this game in ‘high graphic’ setting (you can run the game in low-medium and it should run fine in most mid range computers), also loading times is rather long.

Overall, amazing game and definilty raised the bar fro other strategy games.

I had the chance to play this game over the weekend, and LOVED IT!! Gameplay, graphics, sound are all top notch with no glitches anywhere (that Ive seen so far). This is one of the only games that I can say equals (or maybe even out-do's) the legend that is Starcraft. And one of the best things, you dont need a top of the line system to play it, even when you scale the graphics down it still looks damn good.

I was running it on a AMD 2400+ 512mb and 9600 Pro and it ran without any issues. Some reviews have dropped a few marks from their score for this games loading times, but as the Scarfies say down south “Get over it” – its worth the wait :)

Some will argue but I must say that this is most likely the best RTS to come out of 2006! I have the demo and its great. Try it first if you want the big 1.7GB d/l but take mine and everyone elses word for it… this game kicks A**!

The graphics are incredible especially for a RTS, although apparently the demo isnt going to run as smooth as the final game, and TBH the demo can get a bit laggy at times. The dawn of war cover feature is still there. Very great. And now the world is completely destructible! Great physics and realsim. And I dont want to give it away to those who havnt played it so I wont carry on :P. Buy this game!

The fact that this game is one of the best rts games out there, is not due to one single thing, but all of it banded together! This game got the most, the comments, the action, the graphics, the gameplay, and don't forget Tiger tanks! If there's one thing I find missing, it must be boats :( I have played the beta for over a month now, and I'm still stunned over this magnificent piece of art! You simply have to try this game as soon as you can, there is a demo of it out on the web! go download, and preorder at the same time!
