Description

…“This is some of the best online shooter action around, and with the daunting challenges of Spec Ops and the exciting, globe-trotting campaign, Modern Warfare 3 stands tall as another great descendant of the game that changed a generation.” 8.5/10, Gamespot

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is First-person Shooter rooted in a fictional, but ultra realistic near-future conflict of mostly American forces with those of the Russian Federation around the globe.

Modern Warfare 3 features a focus on multiplayer gameplay which includes innovative new functionality that encourages multiple gameplay combat strategies, a new 2-player co-op option, new play modes, weapons and more. The game also includes a gripping single player campaign that picks up where Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 left off, and game integration with the Call of Duty: Elite online service.

“The multiplayer is hands-down the best it has ever been, with more features, more modes and a ton of new levels.” IGN

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a direct sequel to the previous game in the series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In the game's single player campaign Russian Ultranationalist Vladimir Makarov continues his manipulation of Russian Federation forces in their invasion of the United States and Europe. In their way stands characters like Task Force 141 Captain John “Soap” MacTavish, former SAS Captain John Price as well as new playable characters from Delta Force and the British SAS. Engage enemy forces in New York, Paris, Berlin and other attack sites across the globe. The world stands on the brink, and Makarov is intent on bringing civilization to its knees. In this darkest hour, are you willing to do what is necessary.

Review by IGN
“…Despite its flaws, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 takes the fantastic series we’ve come to love over the years and iterates on it with great success. The multiplayer is hands-down the best it has ever been, with more features, more modes and a ton of new levels. The singleplayer campaign and Spec Ops mode add value to the overall package, creating something that may not be perfect, but is too damn addicting to pass up.”

IGN RATINGS FOR CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE 3 (PC)
8.0 Presentation
Modern Warfare 3’s menus are laid out clearly and work well. The lack of Elite at launch is a bit disappointing.
8.5 Graphics
Sure, the engine is dated, but the work that’s been done still creates scenes that are impressive to watch. And it always runs at 60 frames per second.
8.0 Sound
A lot has actually been done with the guns to make them sound like they have more weight. The voice acting is also well done, though I could stand for a bit less rockin’ guitars.
9.0 Gameplay
The campaign story has its failings, but fantastic set pieces nonetheless. The multiplayer is the best it’s ever been, and Spec Ops is also great fun.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
This is the Call of Duty players will be playing online for hours and hours thanks to its engrossing multiplayer experience. That is, until the next one comes out…
9.0

1 stars "Realistically...what can we expect-"

Despite what the fan boys say I am not holding my breath for this one. After the terrible Black Ops launch (and the fact it was pretty much reskinned CoD4) is another rush job really going to save this once great franchise-

Add to that the pricey DLC you will be required to pay to get new maps and updates (which once used to be free)…why would anyone pruchase this over priced same old game.

Silly me because it's called “Call of Duty”. Come on people buy games based on content not on title and lets put an end to companies like treyarch shipping us garbage.

@ Ryan – You're right this time around activision is claiming the game is being made by “Infinity Ward” – Problem is the men and women who created the earlier titles in the Call of Duty series have all been fired or quit. So although the game is being created by Activision “Infinity Ward” it is not the same Infinity Ward we all know and love.

1 stars "$130 Retail for a PC game"

I dont know why retailers think a game like this demands a $130 rrp. Its basically mw2.1, BF3 which is priced normal on the otherhand will be fantastic( have been playing the beta and its awesome)

Do yourself a favour an buy bf3 instead

1 stars "Honestly just bad"

This will be the same as all those that have come before.
Same guns, same perks, same everything.
The only reason why this will do well is the fact that is has the name ‘Call of Duty’ .

Just buy battlefield 3.

1 stars "Derp"

Just so your aware this isnt being done by infinity ward.. its been done by sledge hammer games. Infinity ward disbanded when the 2 creators of the Call of Duty series left the company after they wernt paid royalties by activision.

This game in my opinion will be and epic failure because its just recycled junk from the past 2 games. It will be fun for a while but then people will get bored.

In saying this im only talking about the multiplayer component. The single player and spec ops component should be a blast. Guess ill have to watch the game on you tube to see how the story ends.

Good on all the CoD fans who still stand by this game, i hope you enjoy it

"MW2.5 -"

Uses the same engine as MW2 so it should run on most computers .
