It started out as a fine day.
The weather was sunny and the birds chirping away.
It was.. my birthday.
This was my day, and it was ruined by a certain piece of technology, known as
the R.A.T 7
I plugged it in, started the computer up. Everything was fine.
But then, My hand slipped, the mouse went flying out the window and sadly landed
on the concrete. I was shocked, dismayed, if you will. I ran down the stairs
when a shocking sight greeted me, the mouse. fully operational. not a single
scratch. all the bells and whistles shiny as new, the double scrolly, the
precision aim button, it all worked. I had found.. the golden mouse.
even after such a traumatic experience the mouse had me wanting more. I started
up Call of Duty, and to my amazement my game had rose, the precision aim button
had shown me a new side to life on the R.A.T side. I had the scrollies mapped
to flashbangs and grenades.
The quality of this mouse is amazing. Buy it now. Right now.
Definitely worth it on special, the whole “Call of Duty” thing is irrelevant, it's an R.A.T 7 mouse for less than a hundred bucks. Good sensitivity, braided cord, overall good mouse. Needs a mousepad or something though, the laser doesn't like desks that much.
I got a good deal on this on a Mighty Ape Daily Deal. It's basically a RAT 5 with the 5600DPI of the RAT 7, but lacks the adjustable thumb rest, pinky rest and palm shells of the RAT 7, however the rear palm can be extended to change the length of the mouse.
Gamers will love the “Precision Aim” thumb button, which cuts the DPI of the mouse in half while held (this amount can be customised in the software), very useful for snipers, and even great for people working in Photoshop to get an extra accurate hand movement. The thumb scroll wheel is also very useful – one use would be to scroll through weapons in a shooter without having to take your hand off movement keys.
It looks strange and flimsy, however the shell of the mouse is metal and very sturdy. This shell also makes the mouse quite heavy out of the box – I didn't see a need for the added weights. The mouse glides very smoothly over any mouse pad.
Driver and software setup in Windows 7 was a breeze. The required programs are all on the rather novel 1GB USB dog tag. The software interface doesn't do a very good job of explaining what its settings are, but is very powerful and flexible once you get the hang of it, including things like time delays for macro commands and what the software called “latched” aka “turbo mode”, which will continuously repeat your programmed command until you press the button again.
At $69 this is a steal, especially for someone like me who was upgrading from an ancient Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical, however at the normal price of $169 you may as well get the fully-fledged RAT 7, which gives you a much wider range of customisation options.
Not as adjustable as a normal rat mouse but still awsome for the price and looks great too
This weapon of mass destruction is perfect for the bomber on the go, small enough to fit into your carry on luggage and cunningly disguised as a Gaming Mouse. This will be sure to heat up any party or large crowded location. I would fully recommend this and their many other products to any discerning WMD purchaser. However I found that the button sequence for activation was quite difficult and it's disguise tended to be quite conspicious outside of any LAN setting.
