I really like Radar's tv series. He's really honest and not in a malicious way which makes for the best humour. This series is not really a how-to-guide for someone to live sustainably off a paddock, it's more what you extract from it that counts. For example maybe making better friends with your community or having a couple of chickens in the back of the garden as a way of living more sustainably.
Te Radar's portrayal of his good intentions which don't always come to fruition make it more believable and achieveable. That fact that he makes it damn hilarious as well is tribute to his good sense of humour.
In this highly entertaining series Radar manages to draw us into all his experiences as he strives to ‘make a go of it’ living off the land. There's lots of good stuff here whether you're looking for practical tips on sustainable living or just a good laugh.
My first introduction to kiwi comedian “Te Radar” (Andrew Lumsden) was an episode of “Under the Radar” I saw on TV while flicking channels. I was instantly hooked on this practical home-grown guide to sustainable living with it's charismatic presenter. Now I can't wait for “Radar's Patch” to become available on DVD as well.
