No Thanks! is a neat little card game which contains a good balance of strategy, chance and push-your-luck.
A numbered card is flipped; the player flipping said card has either the option of taking the card or placing a token on it. Players continue to bid until one player has to, or chooses to take the card with all the tokens bidden on it. Any two cards in a sequence (i.e. 25, 26) take only the lowest number into your end score. Once the cards are all taken, players add up the numbers on their cards, subtract the number of tokens they have left, the lowest score wins.
One of my favourite elements of No Thanks! Is that it is to a certain degree, self-balancing. The more dangerous cards to hold tend to get bidden up; the player assuming the risk also gains the rewards of more tokens to deny future cards that also double as improving their end score.
