I have the game now and have to say that I am very pleased with it's content. There are tons of exercises and balance games etc. to keep you going.
Every one of them is great and you can immediately see just how great this nintendo product is.
The balance board is the best bit. The balance censors and stuff work
incredibly well – its amazing.
It is also really well made, which is a good added extra. Its not just a flimsy
piece of plastic,
All together Wii Fit is a package unlike any other and I can't wait for several new games in development that are going to support the balance board in future.
Brought this for myself and my girlfriend, i have barely had a go since! Makes exercising fun and also allows for a bit of competition between people, great being able to track your weight and BMI! Its not all serious the balancing games are fun but not too dificult that you give up playing. Never found something that motivates you to exercise so much and all in your own home!
Most fantastic fitness fun work out ever. Really enjoy this game. The muscle work outs are very hard and have you with sore bones in the morning. This makes fitness fun. Certainly the Chip N Dip factor. It has it all.
Well I waited long enough for this, but the wait was worth it. The package does all that you would expect from a top of the Line Wii offer and will do more for the machine that Wii Sports. I can see in the near future this Wii Fit sitting in every Osteopath's office as he quickly and accurately checks your centre of Gravity and Balance. This is not a game.
I have always wanted to try some Yoga and this is an excellent entry into some simple Yoga exercises. The Aerobic Workouts are fun as well and the jogging is VERY realistic. It is not quite clear in the instructions that you MUST either have the Wii controller in your pocket or your hand, otherwise you don't move!!
I was never good at Hula Hoops and this is no exception! Lean to the left/right to catch the extra hoops and then get your timing all screwed up!! Fun Fun Fun!
45 Mins flies by and you realise you have had a reasonable workout (well I sweat anyway, YMMV)
Great stuff.
Very clever design, very easy to use. Definately works up a sweat with a great variety of games to play. Seems pretty robust and reliable as well. Just don't get depressed if it tells you you're overweight! See it as a challenge.
A friend lost 30kg and got his type 2 diabetes under control and when I asked how he said “I got Wii fit”. He said it finally motivated him to exercise. I'm getting one too. I spend at least 3 hours a day gaming but can't motivate myself to get fit. I think this will work for me.
Once you get past the terribly hokey low-res graphics on this thing, it is fun to play and pretty addictive.
The main problem is that there isn't much variety once you've been through all the activities, and this edition of Wii Fit has no way of making a ‘play list’ or routine, so you have to go back to the menu and start each activity from there.
The little games are actually fun though, with activities ranging from rhythm boxing, to a simple step aerobic routine, to balancing activities like snowboarding.
After getting this I am really feel its worth the money. It makes me do exercise regularly which I haven't done before!!!
Wii Fit is an awsome accessorie for the Nintendo Wii Especialy if your trying
to watch your weight
Wii Fit has something for every one Young or Old
Yoga,Muscle Workout,Aerobics Exersizes,Balance Games
If You want to know how fit you are take the body test to see what your Wii
Fitness age is the lowest you can get is your actual age
This Wii Fit is great – love how it works on body mass to determine your weight not just "I weigh heavier than my friends I'm fat!' … great different exercises from yoga for those calm minds and jogging for the active!
Exercises start off short and as you progress in time and skill you open more exercises – making it even more motivating to open the unknown!
After hearing about this from a client, I decided it was on my Christmas
list for 2008. And lucky me, got it!.
My spin bike is now collecting dust, as I just have to better my scores each
day. From a good mix of aerobics, including running with scenery, to Yoga for a
beginner and utilising the remote for basic muscle training and fun balance
games, there is something for everyone…
AND for those who notice, there the “ultimate balance test” Just click on
the balance board on the treadmill behind the piggy bank…
Oh, and that Piggy Bank, is a count of your daily and total time… and it
changes colour as you progress…
Motivation is there, and rewards too, with new balance games, yoga stances, muscle workouts and new levels on the aerobics.
Only negative is the limitations on the aerobics – there could be more than 9 basic workouts – though I will admit they now have extra level within. I would love to see the step aerobics varied and extended.
Overall, a good game, that utilises your Mii – yes, that YOU doing all that exercise. Bring on the next advanced version.
I have tried many different fitness vices and Wii Fit is the funnest by far! It shows your progress of fitness, which you'll never get going to a gym, and it allows you to set goals. I am extremely excited about the next games to come out. The Wii Fit game is easy to work around and fantastic fun to play.
The more you play it the more options you unlock. I would recommend to anyone.
With the Wii fit I've been able to lose 6kg so far in 3 months and as I'm not a heavy person this is a substantial amount. It has been good at keeping me motivated and also keeping me inline with my training. The yoga is great as I wouldn't feel comfortable going to a class or shelling out a lot of $$$ for private lessons. The board all in all is great to help you get exercising or to add to your current routine. Its definitely a very cheap way to go to the gym from the comfort of your own lounge.
I've never had so much being forced to exercise.
Well… I'm not being forced, but I feel incredibly guilty when the adorable Balance Board on screen reminds me that I haven't played in a while.. and then I feel guilty when I realize I've actually gained weight since I stopped playing..
I actually lost weight while playing the game too; I wasn't actively trying. If anything, my main goal playing this game was to have fun doing Yoga (always wanted to learn, but never wanted to go to classes) and play some of the fun games (soccer!) at the same time… I didn't expect to get a full workout playing as well.
The jogging was definitely a surprising feature that I liked. I'm not much of a runner… I can run down the street and feel like I'm dying. But the challenge of completing the runs was enough to encourage me to keep running and get higher scores and eventually I found myself doing the Island lap… and not seeing spots afterwards.
The Wii Fit shouldn't be a replacement of actual exercise; and it's definitely not a muscle-builder.. but it's definitely something to keep you toned and even gradually lose weight. Every time I play I generally play for about 45 minutes to an hour and lose about .5kg each time.. pretty consistent for me to enjoy.
I'm living in NZ, but lucky to have family back in Oz who have shipped me through an advance Wii fit, so I've already had a few days under my belt.
If you're expecting it to be “hard core gaming”, then you'll be sad, but if you're into having fun and looking to get up off that couch, then you'll be stoked with the Wii Fit. I've done hula hoops, headbutted soccer balls, ski'ed the slalom course and gone down the river in a bubble, all of which have been fun and addictive and causing you to work on things without thinking about it.
Around 12 months ago, I was deliberating between Wii and PS3, and I'm glad I made the choice to have fun and buy a Wii. This game reinforces the difference between the two, and takes the Wii sport and Mario Olympics to a whole new level. Well done Nintendo !
I can't wait for this to come out!
Im usually a hardcore gamer (who is into COD, Halo, Bioshock etc) but the thought of a snowboading or skateboarding game that could release (and will) that allows you to actually tilt using your legs with great accuracy.
It comes with some games (on one disc) in the box but Nintendo has announced that lots of new games will fully support the Balance Board.
Therefore this will be a great investment. Thats why it has already sold tons in Japan.
