Description
The House of the Dead: OVERKILL charges you with mowing down waves of infected, blood-thirsty zombies in a last-ditch effort to survive Bayou City and uncover the horrific truth behind the origins of the House of the Dead.
Survival horror as it’s never been seen before! A pulp-style take on the classic SEGA light-gun shooter series. Back when the famous Agent G was still fresh out of the academy, he teamed up with hard-boiled bad-ass Agent Washington to investigate stories of mysterious disappearances in small-town Louisiana. Little did they know what blood-soaked mutant horror would await them in the streets and swamps of Bayou City. Features:

"Awesome Game"
Such a good game and its about time for mature games to hit the Wii. There is alot of bad language in the game which might turn people off but i found it more funny then anything. Its a cliched game but feels fresh and very welcoming. I recommend you buy it!!!!!

"Great play for boring days"
I am not much of a gore loving person. But this game has done it for me. This arcade style shooting game has brought a new excitement to Nintendo wii consoles. The story line behind the crazy shooting gives game playing an extra touch with awesome features in buying different guns as you earn cash through every stage.
Recommended for those who don't want to waste more money on arcades, though, not recommended for children. Does swear a lot.

"HOTD Overkill is fun, polished, and really, really funny."
Even though the gameplay doesn't particularly stand out as anything more than a rail shooter, I can't imagine many people disliking this game. If asked to describe House of the Dead: Overkill in one word, I would simply have to say "awesome."
It plays just like any other House of the Dead game you would find in arcades, a first person rail shooter where you're character moves along a predetermined path, and you simply aim the Wiimote at the screen to shoot zombies and mutants trying to kill you. Like I said, it's not a particularly outstanding example of the genre, but it is by no means bad. It is very simple and fun to play, and a blast with more than one people. The thing that really makes House of the Dead stand out to me is it's high level of polish. This is not another average third party Wii game, you can tell a lot of effort was put into it. It has pretty good graphics for a Wii game, has slick menus, and a fantastic soundtrack. It's highly replayable and consists of unlockable extras and harder difficulties. And it is simply hands down one of the most funny games I have ever played. It is a blatant piss take of gore filled zombie movies, and a classic 80s cop show. It is very violent and explicit (it actually made the Guinness Book of Records for the most F-words ever in a game) but is well written and voice acted so it plays as a brilliant satire. This game will have you laughing out loud a lot, especially if you are playing with more than one person. So overall, expect to play a very fun and well made, if not outstanding light gun shooter with a fantastic sense of humor and high levels of polish. There's so many little touches that you will have to experience yourself to truly make you appreciate this game. I highly recommend it, buy this game and support SEGA for actually putting effort into quality third party Wii titles.

"Undead, Unreal, Unlimited, and Unable to stop playing."
No game yet to surpass such well engineered cinematic movement and playability. Compared to "House of the Dead 2 & 3" the graphics are updated, gun selection and power ups are great in single combat but found to be easy with 2 player. Can't go past head shots that smear the rear wall and stay there despite the headless zombie disolving. Hero and villian dialogue are straight from "B" grade movie. YES, don't play this in front of anyone who gets offended, Do play OVERKILL on the large screen with subwoofer and stero loud enough to get the armed defender squad turning up! Beer and pizzas with the lads is hillarity unlimited.

"Killer game - buy it now!"
This game is a classic, and works perfectly on the Wii. It's full of more zombies than you can shake a stick at and more swear words than you can shake a tree at (very entertaining but not for the easily offended). Your game is narrated by a cheesy american voice who gets more and more excited as you dispatch the various zombies without missing any shots, and the power-ups you can also shoot (like the one which slows down the action for you to get in a few clean head shots) add an extra layer of complexity and fun. This is a (much needed) game for the big boys on Wii, just don't play it with your mother...
