Having only played the first Paper Mario, which was epic, I jumped on this game immediately.
It hasn't let me down, the gameplay is very fun. I was skeptical of the 3-D before I bought it, but when playing it's very convenient and makes the game much more fun. The Pixls are wicked to use and I like that you need to switch between characters to progress in the story and it's not just a novelty.
Sometimes the puzzles are incredibly hard to figure out though; the Crags especially gave me a lot of grief and I was more than happy to close the book on that chapter when it finished.
Not quite along the same path as the first Paper Mario, but it's definitely heading in a good direction ;)
I'm a big Paper Mario fan, and unlike others who may have been disappointed with this game, I really love it. It is a bit of a sidestep to the usual Paper Mario formula, and while I wouldn't rate it as highly as the original Paper Mario or The Thousand Year Door, it's still a really good game. It is fairly easy, but takes a fair amount of time to complete. There are lots of really neat levels, including a retro one, which harks back to the NES days, as if the rest of the game doesn't! The ability to swap back and forth from 2d to 3d adds a cool flavour to this game. I can recommend it to any Mario fan.
When I bought this I wasn't sure how good it would be. I had severely underestimated this game. Highly addictive. I have spent hours playing it. It even has some of the original features of the very very first Mario brothers. The one that came in brick form for Nintendo. I am so glad I bought it and would suggest that anyone who misses the good only days should buy this game. Its a great mix of old school and new technology.
shocking game never will i play this again because its nothing like the old
paper mario games which i really enjoyed
if you are thinking of buying this… don't just stick with PatTYD, as you
discover things that you didn't know before and trying to complete it 100% is
super fun

Super Paper Mario is one of the greatest things about the Wii and one of the best games on the system.
The adventure is superb as you play through this brilliant, lengthy single player which has a great sense of creativity and uniqueness.
Don't even bother to look at the other review as if they had actually played the game, they would have enjoyed it as much as I did!
