Description

The Galactic Federation’s Base Sector Zero is under attack by Space Pirates. Samus must boot up the generator to restore the defense systems. But at the end of her path, someone awful is waiting for her.

The war initiated by Dark Samus and the Space Pirates rages across many planets as they attempt to corrupt each with Phazon seeds. Players use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to explore alien landscapes, hunt for weapons and information, and destroy the seeds. Saving the planets from Corruption isn’t enough, though. Eventually, players must take down Samus’ mortal enemy, Dark Samus.

Besides using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers to pull off amazing feats like aiming and blasting in midair or at a full run, players also will have an array of different weapons at their disposal. In true Metroid fashion, these will become powered up as the game progresses. Not only that, but the controller will be used for a number of other game elements beyond the traditional firstperson shooter standards.

Features:
  • Players control Samus by moving with the Nunchuk controller and aiming with the pointer, allowing for a level of immersion unlike anything they have ever experienced. Through the eyes of Samus, players experience a quantum leap in first-person control as they wield the Wii Remote, the ultimate device for the firstperson shooter genre.
  • Samus will employ well-known power-ups like the Grapple Beam and Morph Ball, as well as a bunch of new surprises, to help her survive her coming trials.

5 stars "Unrivaled video game experience"

I understand it’s been sometime since this game has been released. Those in the know of quality Nintendo franchises will have already nabbed this one, and played it through to death twice over at least, but this is for the ones who have a dormant Nintendo gathering dust looking for a great game, those not in the know, those who value games based on screen resolution and cosmetics and because everyone plays them.

Forget anything else you’ve played on any other system. Nothing rivals this.

Let’s get it out there for the record. This game and all other Metroid prime series games in FPS guise on GCN and Wii are what I think, the epitome of what a video game ought to be. I don’t know where to start with describing this to anyone. It is cliché, but to make this a helpful review I will say that you need to get this game and experience it.

I’m not a fan boy, and I played many games in my time of all sorts of genres and systems. I have seen them all, and I know a good game when I see one. If this game is even remotely akin to what you think is your type of game, you should get it. I still put it on top of my pile of games on the shelf.

4 stars "An interesting game..."

Its a game worth buying for those that want to try a fps shooter on the Wii with a bit of adventure implemented into it and a bit of story, I quite like the controls, I havent used the game with the Wii plus ?? cant remember what that is called, So im not sure what thats like with it.

5 stars "Great Prime trilogy conclusion"

As far as gameplay, graphics etc are concerned I am in full agreement with
the previous reviews of Metroid Prime 3.

The only downfall however, is the lack of online play. MP2: Echoes on Gamecube
had a reasonable multiplayer with all the generic modes of todays multiplayer
FPS games, but due to no Gamecube online it was restricted to split-screen
single console entertainment. MP3 has no multiplayer aspect at all, which is
a shame because of the WII net connectivity. Online multiplayer was available
on MP: Hunters for the DS which raises the question of why no multiplayer
option for WII?

Apart from the lack of multiplayer MP3 is a great game with a single player
campaign which shines as a showcase of what the WII is capable of. For those
who have played the previous Prime games on Gamecube this Corruption is a
step into familiar territory bringing a conclusion to the story of the Space Pirates
and their quest for power through the use of Phazon.

The controls on WII are intuitive and comfortable to use, especially when compared
to playing with the Gamecube controller, which at times felt a little clumsy and annoying
when fighting certain bosses within Metroid Prime and MP2:Echoes.

Great game highly recommended.

5 stars "Can't wait to get home and play."

I love this game. I am very new to gaming consoles but have played loads of FPS games on the PC. I was worried that the controls would be hard to master but within minutes of playing I was hooked. The graphics are smooth although I have noticed lag once during a Boss fight but was so minimal that most people would not notice. The score is moody and great. Initially I thought that this game was too easy but as it goes on the gameplay & opponents become more challenging but never too hard.

5 stars "FPS Perfection"

This is definitely one of the best games on the Wii…beautiful visuals…perfect pinpoint accuracy with the controls…good voice acting and a great musical score. It isnt the hardest game out there but the boss fights are sometimes very difficult…Mogenar Im looking at you…however this is the kind of game in which u will want to progress further and find out what happens. Who needs HD graphics when a game looks this good? This is one of the most visually impressive games on the Wii and is on par with an Xbox 360 game. The controls are accurate and feel great…better than a mouse and keyboard setup imo. The gameplay is really good as well…despite a lot of backtracking. Overall if you own a Wii…get this…it's an essential purchase and a contender for GOTY…however I think Super Mario Galaxy may take that title as it surpasses even this game!
