The 11th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver device is an actual, fully-functioning, Wii Remote Controller!
This sonic screwdriver is compatible with all Wii games, and can be used with the Wii Nunchuck controller and Wii MotionPlus attachments.
Charges via USB (cable included).
This product cannot be shipped outside of New Zealand.
This controller reacts very well, is nicely weighted and fits into your hand very comfortably (lot more comfortable than usual controller). As a general controller it is a good buy, but if you are a Dr Who fan then this is a thrill to own and something you will truely treasure (and not want to share). Easily recharged, nicely presented and a joy to use – what more can you ask for! Am hoping to save up for another one – his & hers.
Perfect for any Dr Who fan!! Anniversary present for hubby … works wonderfully as a wii mote! Has rechargable batteries included which recharge through the USB cable. Would definitely recommend this!
The BBC commissioned this remote to go with their Wii game, Doctor Who: Return To Earth, but is not limited to this game. It is a well built replica of the Matt Smith/11th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver, and functions perfectly as a general purpose Wii remote.
The build quality is excellent, feeling solid and well weighted in the hand. Functionally it seems indistinguishable from the original Wii remote. It is responsive and accurate, and makes a good replacement for the original.
The only down side is that it won't fit into any of the common plastic holders, such as the Mario Kart steering wheel. You'll need to use a standard remote if you want to use these. Nor is it comfortable for using like a D-Pad controller – holding it sideways is not a good ergonomic fit.
In all other regards this is good value, and a must-have if you are into the Dr. Who series.
This remote looks awesome, and the fact it doesn't use batteries, instead being charged by USB, is really useful. However, I've found that you need to be quite a way back from your TV for it to pick up where you're pointing and if you're using games that don't use the motion stuff, the B button is too close to the D-Pad, so you keep accidentally hitting it.
I bought it when it was really cheap on sale, so I can't really complain. Definitely wouldn't pay the full price for it though.
It's a great Wii-mote in the shape of a Dr Who sonic screw driver. Charges through a USB port, the charge lasts for about 2 hours and you can play while plugged into the USB charger. It's comfortable and looks good!
