"Another Excellent Shin Megami Tensei Game!"
In SMT Devil Survivor you and your friends, Atsuro and Yuzu, have come to
Tokyo to visit your cousin, Naoya. Instad of meeting him he sends the three of
you a COMP. Soon afterwards you find out that there are demons in Tokyo and a
lockdown takes place, meaning no one enters and no one leaves. The only means of
survival are the COMPS that you have. Because the game has multiple story paths
it is up to the player to decide what to do. Lift the lockdown or try to escape
is all up to you but the most important thing is to survive.
SMT Devil Survivor is an SRPG hybrid game. The game is grid based mening you
move your teams of 3, consisting of a human and two demons, across a grid to
reach the enemy.When you or an enemy attacks the battle shifts to a turn based
system, like Dragon Quest and FF3. Persona fans will be happy to hear that the
elmental weaknesses are back and it is up to the player to exploit these
weaknesses so that they ain extra points.
After battles you recieve Macca which is used to purchase demons in the demon
auction. You can also obtain more powerfull demons by fusion. Unlike other games
DS lets you pick what skills your demons inherit.
Graphics are excellent with cool character portaits, detailed backgrounds and
beautiful sprites. Audio wise the music is awesome however ther is no voice
acting in this game at all.
If you are a fan of SMT this game is a know brainer but if you are new to SMT
this game is still worth it as it is a unique and fun game.
