I have the japanese version of this game and it is awesome (although i don't understand a word of it!) its really fun! You can catch new pokemon wih different forms and explore the torn world in search of giratina and when you beat the elite 4 you can go back to its lair and retrieve the item that changes it form (see cover)

Just got this game this morning and opened it up and played it immediately. Great great game a definite improvement over Diamond and Pearl, Faster Battles, More Pokemon and an extended storyline make this a must have for all pokemon fans old and new. Now bring on the gold and silver remakes please

5 stars "Alot to offer"

Pokemon Platinum features the most updates to any other pokemon game. The first magor change is that all pokemon have a new back animation. The second is pokemon trainer in the game have pokeball seals to add an extra flare to the battle. The third is a kind of new story line to diamond or pearl which is longer. And the fourth and final one I'll tell all the graphics have been overhaled to be a much more eye pleasing experience. In total there are 54 new things to discover and master. So will you catch them all?

5 stars "big improvement!!!!"

Pokemon Platinum trumps Pokemon Pearl and Diamond in every way. Better graphics, more storyline, new things to do, more pokemon to catch, more battles and a whole new area which takes the graphics of the nintendo DS to a new level. It's a must buy for fans of previous games.

5 stars "An excellent game for the Pokemon fan"

This is an excellent game with fantastic graphics and is a must for any Pokemon fan. This game has detailed graphics with plenty of action as well. There is a realy strategy element behind it and because of this can even be used as a key educational tool for decision making.

5 stars "The new battle frontier adds new depth!"

Pokemon Platinum has numerous differences and new features that the Diamond and Pearl versions didn't have.
Such as:
New pokemon, new moves, and extended storyline.

But the best of the new features is by far the battle frontier. The battle frontier has lots of different events that are much more difficult than the main game. You will really need to stratigize about which pokemon you use and the moves they know. You will probably spend more time in the battle frontier than the rest of the game.

4 stars "Wicked upgrade to Pearl and Diamond"

As any former player of the Pokemon series should well-know, the Pokemon series have always had a “third game” for each generation (with the exception of FireRed & LeafGreen). Yellow is to Red and Blue as Emerald is to Ruby and Sapphire.

Pokemon versions Pearl and Diamond are no different, having Pearl as their successor. And a successor it is. It adds so many new features as well as Pokemon. Pokemon you couldn't even catch in Pearl and Diamond are also included which is a great bonus.

The battles have been improved vastly making them much more fast-paced, this can be a good or bad thing depending on how your personal game style is. The Battle Frontier from Pokemon Emerald also makes a comeback, but with more features than previously seen.

The only real fault I ever had with the game is that you have to go through content you've already seen. Some parts have been changed immensely (to add new unseen plot elements or make certain previous “quests” quicker) but overall, it's still the same game from the previous generations.

4 stars "Good game"

This is a good game and can be played for hours at a time. But if you are new to playing the pokemon series then I suggest you buy Pokemon Heart Gold, or Pokemon Soul Silver.

5 stars "A fun improvement of Diamond and Pearl"

Pokemon Platinum tops Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. Better graphics, improved storyline, new sidequests. A few noticeable changes for are: the new formes(Giratina, Shaymin and Rotom), a new area called the Distortion World(in which you can walk upside down and sideways!) and the return of the Battle Frontier from Emerald, spiced up with new challenges.

There are also a few miniature changes to remove some frustration, like the faster surfing speed and the back button on the Poketch.

Many say that the “third” games don't add enough to make it worthy of being another game. It may have been true with Yellow or maybe Crystal but Platinum certainly has wiped out that kind of thought. If you already own Diamond or Pearl, I still suggest this game.

Like all Pokemon games, there are many things to do. Once you've gone through the storyline you can do contests, try and get a streak at the battle frontier, grow berries, catch all the pokemon, train your pokemon, get items and much more! I could go on for ages but you get the idea.

I've played over 300 hours on my Platinum, I'm super addicted! If it was boring and there was nothing to do after completing the storyline I wouldn't still be playing on it!

Even if you aren't a big Pokemon fan I hold this game in high regard and suggest you go out and buy it right now! Thanks for reading :)

5 stars "The Best Pokemon Game To Date"

This has to be the best Pokemon game to date. There is so much to see and do: an upgraded Pokedex, extended and bettered storyline, the Distortion World which takes full advantage of the Nintendo DS graphic capabilities and a special place dedicated entirely to battling unlocked at the end of the game. Platinum has such large replay value more than making up for the price. A must buy for Pokemon fans and alike.

5 stars "Best pokemon yet!"

So by now everybody knows about pearl and diamond and what not. the new pokemon and all the rest. and dont get me wrong pearl and diamond were good games and still are!

but platinum takes pokemon to the next level, it does this with new map graphics. new pokemon movements, a new move or two and more.

on the pokemon side of things i have found this game leaving me with no complaints. you can get BOTH legendry pokemon (palkia and dialga) without trading and you can also get giratina in an altered form thats always good AND all the legendary birds from the original pokemon!

With new pokemon coming out only for trades (magmorter, rhyperior and so on) in pearl and diamond you had to see the pokemon to be able to find them in the GTS (or of course trade with someone else to get the pokemon to evolve) and of course in the other two games you could not see the pokemon but but BUT in platinum they are no harder to find than a Bibarel so you get the new pokemon!

all in all this is much better than the pokemon games before it and its worth buying!

5 stars "Incedible, Amazing, Extraordinary, PLATINUM!!"

A thrilling adenture the whole way. if youve played diamond or pearl, you may be thinking platinum is a waste of time. you would be dead wrong. some how nintendo took a recent story line and added so much. im proud to have beaten this game, it being a reasonably harder than D/P. As Nintendo said, even the heros of the story get an new outfit for the new adventure. and as you start this new adventure, youll be dressed for success!

With giratina, shaymin, and rotom taking on some new forms and Giratinas Own world the game has a new thrilling edge, to make it one of the most awesome pokemon games created, worthy of being compared to the great emerald.

And im only talking about post game perks here. Articuno, Zapdos, And Moltres make an appearance after you acheive your national dex. and if you are patient, you can meet and actually catch the three legendary birds that have been around since the Old-Gold days in kanto.

Plus, get ready to hone your skills in the all new battle frontier! right of the battle area. with 5 facilitys, all with different rules! im not explaining them though! youll have to buy platinum and see for yourself what awaits you in sinnoh this time!

4 stars "Pokemon plus"

An excellent game with all the features we've come to enjoy. Only grip is that it is hard to get event only pokemon in some countries, but other than that a great game with lots of extra content even after you've finished the main storyline (just look at the size of the walk through book if you don't believe me).

4 stars "Worth It"

When i first got the game, i thought it was abit slow and wasn't to fun but after a beat the main story I got really adicted to it. I believe that is great for pokemon lovers, but i would avoid it for first time fans and wait till the new pokemon game comes out.

4 stars "Its all right"

This game is pretty much the same as diamond and pearl. But it has a few differences. If you don't have pokemon diamond or pearl and you are wanting a pokemon ds game I would recomend it. But if you have the others then i wouldn't. But the game is still fun and I have them all.

I thought that this version was fantastic. Once I started playing, I found it very hard to stop. I especially liked the new underground feature. Getting to build a secret base again was fun.

5 stars "TRULY ONE Of THE BEST POKEMON GAMES TO DATE"

I have played Pokemon since the begining (Yellow, Silver, Ruby, Emerald, Diamond) and I have to say this is quite simply the best. The graphics even top the previous Diamond and Pearl versions. The gameplay is as always fantastic, very addictive to anyone any age. The story in this version is a little different to Diamond and Pearl, there are new characters, the ability to access a new area called the distortion world (where the original form Giratina lays), some old returning legendaries as well as the ability to capture Dialga and Palkia. Another neat feature this game has is the ability to recieve wifi events (if you have the access) so you can get Pokemon like Darkrai and Shaymin as well as the secret key required to change Rotom into several different forms. So overall this is a must have game for any Pokemon fan with a DS, but this is also a good game to enter the Pokemon world if you have never played before.

4 stars "more of the same but better"

it is very simmiler to dimond and pearl but the new pokemon platinum definitly is a cut above them like the poketec on dimond and pearl could only go one way so you would have to keep cycling through until you got to the one you want in platinum it lets you go forward and backwards they have seamed to remove all the little things that wear frustrating definatly better worth a buy
