This is a great series, if you are in to the games. Not sure if it would be any good as a stand alone but it fills in the story between the games nicely, and gives a lot of background into you favourite characters from the game. On the downside sometimes the artwork is a little bit inconsistent, notably Liara does not always resemble her character from the move and some of the appearances of other characters can vary quite a bit. I'm pretty new to comics though so this could be fairly normal given the style. It also has a section at the back which gives insight into the process of making a comic, and has notes on some pages explaining design choices made my the artists. The price is also very reasonable when you compare it to buying all of the issues individually. All in all it is a very nice product, and would be well enjoyed by anyone who really enjoyed the story of the games and wants a little more insight into the Mass Effect universe and their favourite characters from the game.
