The Darkness are back with their latest offering, “Hot Cakes”. The first
album in 7 years, featuring the single “Everybody Have A Good Time” as
well as a blistering cover of Radiohead's “Street Spirit”. Reforming the
original lineup, the band sounds better than ever with Justin Hawkins' signature
falsetto reaching new heights and more riffs than your last Guitar Hero party.
This album comes hot on the heels of the band's recent sold out Australian
tour. The rise, fall, and rise again of The Darkness contains all the ingredients
of a classic rock opera. After selling millions of records, the bassist gets
kicked out and the singer leaves the band after a stint in rehab and a highly
publicised fallout with his brother, who also happens to be the guitarist in the
band. After reconciling over a curry, the brothers Hawkins have reunited with
original bassist, Frankie Poullain and drummer, Ed Graham to complete the
lineup.
