HD PVR's video passthrough gives zero delay on your TV monitor, and makes HD video recordings at the same time! Video passthrough uses the component video input to record your game play in HD while the “no delay” component video output allows you to play your games on your TV set.
Create your own HD video library … burn your video recordings in a high definition blu-ray format!
HD PVR records in MP4, M2TS and AVCHD formats. AVCHD can be used to burn Blu-ray compatible DVD disks. Two hours of HD recordings, recorded at 5 Mbits/sec, can be burnt onto a standard 4.7 GByte DVD-R or DVD-RW disk for playback on a Blu-ray DVD player.
The HD PVRs amazing recording quality allows personal archival of your game play or TV programs from a cable or satellite set top box. Record your TV programs in HD, then burn them onto a standard DVD disk (up to two hours) in a high definition blu-ray fomat.

"Excellent recorder, requires a lot of fiddling"
I bought my HD PVR directly from Hauppauge last year. Works very well when installed and videos made are very nice. A bonus to include the component cable as they are quite pricey in NZ. One major problem is Hauppauge brings out new drivers and firmware updates that tend to cause more problems than they fix. Example, when I updated to the October 2011 update available, my PVR started cutting out in the middle of recordings. I now use an older version of driver which has solved the problem.
The videos themselves are very good quality, when done with the correct settings. If creating machinima videos or something along those lines, you might want to invest in a video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Elements, this will dramatically reduce the file size that is produced.
I think this is a good product, but needs a lot of knowhow with computers.
