"Gears lost its soul!"
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I give this game a 6/10 for the following reasons.

This game but honestly didn't feel like Gears. Too many changes to attract the CoD/Casual players to the game.

In campaign the graphics and cinematography are great and some of the combat scenarios are fun but it's just got to much of an arcade feel with the star system popping up every 5 minutes. The story is short (approx. 5hrs), shallow and uninteresting. Not even close to being as funny as 1, 2 and 3.

Multiplayer is a real let down. The game only ships with four TDM/FFA maps and four Overrun/Survivor maps. No CoG v Locust in TDM and FFA. That's a major fail IMHO. Gears is CoG v Locust not CoG v CoG. The symmetrical maps are gone so so is the team strategy. We are reduced to running around like headless chickens. It just feels like they wanted to replicate CoD maps. The new weapons are pretty cool but they really don't make up for the pokey map layouts. The vertical aspect of the maps is ok but the sound needs fixing. Vey hard to understand who is where in TDM when all are CoG and wearing multi-colour armour skins that make the red/blue team colours hard to recognise.

My opinion only but the forums seem to replicate my thoughts in general so buy it and try it if you like but be prepared for a let down if you have played the previous Gears titles.

"Not a real Gears of War game"
1 stars"

If your a fan of the original Gears of War games then you will most likely be disappointed with this game. Gears of War judgement has too many changes made to it that totally changes the game from Gears of War and turns it into something like Call of Duty which is a damn shame because the classic games had their own unique style which separated the series from other shooters on the market.

Great story line, great graffics, always good either single or double player, gow fans will love it.

Description

Gears of War: Judgment” delivers the most intense and challenging “Gears of War” game yet, with a campaign that takes you back to the immediate aftermath of Emergence Day —the defining event of the “Gears of War” universe —for the very first time and tests your mettle in highly competitive new multiplayer modes.

A Riveting Campaign
Set years before the events of the previous “Gears of War” trilogy, “Judgment” centers on Kilo Squad, a troop of soldiers led by Damon Baird and Augustus “The Cole Train” Cole. They are joined by newcomers to the “Gears” series, Sofia Hendricks and Garron Paduk, as they attempt to save the besieged city of Halvo Bay from a terrifying new enemy.

Playable cooperatively with up to three friends on Xbox LIVE (four players total), “Gears of War: Judgment” depicts the planet Sera on the brink of annihilation by an unstoppable new Locust menace, giving you a new vantage point into one of the richest and most acclaimed sagas in gaming.

Marking a first for the “Gears” franchise, “Gears of War: Judgment” features a “Mission Declassification” system that lets players experience more challenging gameplay scenarios and achievements by uncovering critical information during the course of the campaign.

Faster and More Intense Combat
Gears of War: Judgment” delivers a riveting gameplay experience that gets back to basics, captures the true essence of “Gears” combat and introduces a new style of combat that’s faster-paced and more action-packed than ever before.

Gears of War: Judgment” introduces a new Smart Spawn System [S3] for both campaign and multiplayer action. This new system ensures that each encounter is unique and new because types, timing and locations of enemies change with each new encounter.

Explosive New Multiplayer Experiences
Gears of War: Judgment” introduces brand-new multiplayer experiences, including OverRun, a thrilling new class-based competitive mode that pits Locust and COG soldiers in a head-to-head battle unlike anything “Gears” fans have experienced yet.

An objective-oriented mode that lets five-player teams alternate between playing as Locusts and COG soldiers, OverRun marks the first time that a class-based, competitive multiplayer experience has been introduced in the “Gears of War” series and amps up the addictive gameplay with a deep player progression system layered on top of the experience.
