This is one of my favourite cook books on my shelf now. It is full of all the classic things my mum and grandma use to make for me when I was a kid. Simple to follow recipes that even my brother and his flatmates can follow.
It is one of those deceiving cook books, looks simple and thin and then when you open the mighty ape package you get this nice sized book filled to the brim with recipes anyone can make and recreate how they want.
I bought this book for my 21 year old daughter. It has some of the more popular recipes from other Alison Holst books. I have a large collection of her cookbooks, her recipes never fail and I do heartily recommend this book to new cooks. It really does cover all the bases without being pretentious like a lot of “Chef” cookbooks. Excellent layout and size too.
