"Amazing"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

One of the most amazing inspirational books I have ever read! Would recommend it to everyone!

"An intimately told celebration of a woman's search for identity"
5 stars"

I originally bought this book only to be transported to the exotic settings of Italy, India and Bali yet found myself captivated by the intense journey of this woman – Elizabeth Gilbert – on a quest to discover herself. It sounds terribly cliche, I know, yet this book is far from cliche. Gilbert tells her story as if to a close friend, immersing you in the rich culture and beauty of the places she visits coupled with her own philosophical revelations. I loved everything about this book and could barely put it down, the beauty of it is that her journey inspires YOU to find balance, purpose and joy your own life!

"Good casual read"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I enjoyed reading this book. It was an easy casual read, I can put it down and pick it up whenever.

Description

This beautifully written, heartfelt memoir touched a nerve among both readers and reviewers. Elizabeth Gilbert tells how she made the difficult choice to leave behind all the trappings of modern American success (marriage, house in the country, career) and find, instead, what she truly wanted from life. Setting out for a year to study three different aspects of her nature amid three different cultures, Gilbert explored the art of pleasure in Italy and the art of devotion in India, and then a balance between the two on the Indonesian island of Bali. By turns rapturous and rueful, this wise and funny author (whom "Booklist" calls aAnne Lamottas hip, yoga- practicing, footloose younger sistera) is poised to garner yet more adoring fans.
