"nice to look at"

a giant leap forward in graphics to the previous versions of the game. stages are large and detailed making it nice to look at, but thats about it. most of the characters remain however there is a serious lack of diversity between them. pretty much every character has the same weapon and same story line, unlike previous versions where every character had unique weapons and stories. unlike previous games in the series this requires the pushing of only one button which gets old fast. koei has taken one big step forward with graphics and and numerous steps back with everything else. does not match up to giving the hours of gameplay received from previous versions

"Good button mashing glory"

Dynasty Warriors delivers what every other Dynasty Warrior game has delivered – hours of thumb numbing joy as you take on thousands of troops single handedly.

New in DW6 you can jump down, swim, and climb up ladders, but most importantly, you can press down on the directional pad and summon your horse!! An excellent feature.

The PS3 version did dissapoint in a few areas.. When there are a lot of character models on the screen, there is a very, very noticable slowdown that can sometimes ruin the moment. The homogenisation of the moveset is another let down.

Overall Dynasty Warriors 6 is more of the same, with a little bit different to keep the fans interested.

Dynasty Warriors 6 is yet another great installment to add to the list from Koei.

The game is essentiantially the story of the three kingdoms of china where you relive history as one of the many officers of the three kingdoms during the reigns of Wei, Wu and Shu.

The game is a great button bashing game and does require a lot of strategy to achieve victory. What I love about this game is it's replay factor – how many games do you buy these days that you play over and over? I haven't touched half the games i've bought once i've finished them because you know all the surprizes but with Dynasty Warriors you can and I still do.

Every level you play in the 6 level single player campaigns (Musou Mode) will level your character to have stronger abilities (speed, strength, attach, deffense etc.) and with over 20 levels and usually 2 or 3 “sides” to play on in battle the combinations are very vast.

There are over 30 characters to play from, 15 of which have single player scenarios and the others are playable in Free Mode which adds to hours of gaming (if only there were a timer showing total game time I'd be shocked). Any mode will increase your level so if you're having trouble in Musou Mode, hop over to Free Mode and level up!

The story is very good, there is a lot of information about the kingdoms in the game and many things to unlock. A great purchase to add to your gaming pile.

I've really enjoyed this game and still play it often. I've been a fan right back from DW2 and have enjoyed them all.

I give this 4 stars for gameplay, replay factor, cinematics and graphics. It's a very smooth game and has a great bullet time effect when there's huge numbers of units to defeat.

I would recommend installing the game to your HDD as this speeds up loading to less than a quarter of the time.

"AMAZING"

I have loved the whole Dynasty Warriors series and this game is no exception! Although you can win by button mashing this is still a very enjoyable game with a great plot that is different for every character.

If you want a game that is going to last you this is the one. With so many characters / weapons / skills / maps – what is not to love? A bit of a hack and slash but who cares? Great to kill time and even better play with a friend and destroy hordes of troops!

"Koei have taken the ultimate step forward."

I'd heard so much about this game, eagerly waiting and saving to buy a PS3 simply to play it. Koei had made dramatic changes to the game, from character appearances and movesets to the entire battle system. It's been met with both very negative and very positive feedback. But I must say, without a doubt this is the greatest Dynasty Warriors game to date.

The graphics in warriors games have always been… well, awful. A lot more time was spent on gameplay than appearance. However with this game, I often take the time to gaze at the sun beaming down through the mountains. It's a wonderful improvement from any previous warriors game. There's also been a dramatic change in gameplay. You can swim, climb, personally aid in sieges… and the fighting system has been given an upgrade too, with the “renbu” system. This took some time to adjust to, but overall an improvement I think.

As always, the music is awesome, with traditional Chinese music being incorporated into instrumental hard rock, metal and electronica. It also has reasonable playback, it takes a long time for hammering hundreds of peons with a ridiculous weapon across expansive battlegrounds to get old.
