The graphics are average, the jokes are crude and you will spend a long time waiting at loading screens (30 secconds or more) only to die and see them all over again. Wait for a big price drop or rent it

I think where this game holds its appeal is the humour. As far as FPS's go its just a stock standard game…i actually dont find the campaign mode overly engaging…funny, yes..but thus far it just seems like a ‘go to the next area, get blocked in, fight several waves of enemys and move to the next area’
I have been enjoying the multiplayer, capture the babe is pretty funny…basically capture the flag…but with babes!! – i think its long term appeal for me will be in the multiplayer
For a 30+ guy like me who has been playing games since the days of doom and quake I enjoyed this game a lot (rude and crude but lots of fun)
Ok so I was really looking forward to this game for god knows how many years but I started playing it, it was very noticeable that this game is extremely dated. Old graphics with old gameplay but don't get me wrong it's still enjoyable to play just as long as you don't expect much from it :)
I suppose its what we expected, I guess I just expected to enjoy it more…
It's definitely got some good parts to it, few laughs, alongside some cool shooting and explosion's, I especially like the shrink gun. However there's a whole bunch of boring frustrating stages as well.
I love Duke, but to be honest if it wasn't for the ‘Duke Nukem’ logo this game wouldn't be anything.
Disappointed.
After a fair few hours of play, i definitely cannot write home about this game. However the game is just another average shooter (with some jokes in poor taste mixed in there for good measure). It is not even close to the worst game ive played.
Considering this game almost never came out, it's tolerable.
I don't expect many fans to be overly impressed by the quality of the latest Duke game, but at least it's still playable.
Duke returns once again, and so do the no-good aliens that we remember from Duke Nukem 3d.
It's a plot that was well received when Duke Nukem 3d came out in 1997, but here it just serves to move you along from linear setpiece to the next.
Duke doesn't feel like his old self, often just standing there and barely saying anything during dialogue scenes, or pausing as if to ponder his response, before blurting out something that really didn't require much effort.
Combine that with the fact that the plot is very disjointed and vague, it has the hallmarks of games of previous generations.
There is puzzles, although not the clever or interesting variety, involving collecting items or moving puzzle pieces into place.
Perhaps the one element that remained true to the old Duke games is the multiplayer.
It's oldschool and fast paced, although Duke feels slow and sluggish and the controls are somewhat unresponsive for such intense action.
Duke deserves better than this.
Hi all,i cant at this early stage tell u that much about this game as ive only played it for twenty odd minutes so far.since last time i played duke nukem 3d was round 17 years ago at least, this recent version is how that game should have been all those years ago!
Its time to kick some a$$ and chew some gum and im all outta gum. Classic one liners. Original Duke Nukem Voice. Cringe worthy story line. What’s not to love.
This game would have been awesome to play about 10 years ago. Unfortunately the graphics are not very good and gameplay not that great either. However, still a pretty good time waster if you don't expect too much.
Gotta love old duke nuke em one of the classics
And at this price they make awesome pressies.
Got this real cheap awesome deal kick a$$ game with Duke Nukem at the helm whipping A$$ and taking names
Yes the graphics are very average for a modern game and yes i'd expect better for a franchise such as Duke Nukem but all that aside, this game really isn't that bad. Its fun just like the old Duke games. Graphics are easy enough to live with and the gameplay is on par with other shooters. For $8 you would be mad not to add this to your collection.
Just bought this game for $10!!! And an hour later I got an email from mightyape saying they have shipped it! Super Fast! Looking at the reviews it looks pretty cool and I cant wait to play it!
Great price but the game is not great
I read the reviews and I knew this wasn't going to break any new ground, but if Duke's what you're looking for, Duke's what you get! Glad I bought it as one of the daily deals.
I payed $15 for it, probably wouldnt have paid more than $30. single player is fun, multiplayer is pretty dead. I'm really not a fan of the 2 weapons thing, especially when youre doing the trophy/ acheivment of keeping the golden gun throughout the single player camaign., because youre limited to carying only 1 of the many decent weapons at a time. not a highly replayable game, but a good laugh and a breeze for a casual gaming session. 3 out of 5
Didn't expect too much buying this game but being a fan of the old duke nukem games I found myself having to buy it and was pretty happy with my purchase.
