What can I say? This movie changed my LIFE! Sounds dramatic but it's true. Short story is that after watching this movie, I watched the two prequels, read all the Twilight books and now I'm writing my own fantasy fiction novels!!!
You may think this has nothing to do with the review of this movie. But it has everything to do with it.
Even if you haven't read the books or seen the prequels, you will fall in love with the brooding vamps, sexy shirtless werewolves, and there are plenty of hot chicks too (Bella, Alice, Rose, Leah…). But it's not just that everyone in this movie is ridiculously good looking, but that the story of the main characters, Edward & Bella & Jacob, draws you in so much that you actually feel like you are part of it.
Bella's tough choice between two hunky good-guys is difficult, especially when evil vampires can't wait to get rid of her.
But it's not just a chick flick IMO, it actually has believable fantasy fight scenes, a decent sploshing of blood & guts (not so much the guts), and some awesome supporting characters in the wolf & vamp clans, with their stories.
If you have been living under a rock (like I had) and don't know about Twilight, then take this opportunity to open your eyes to an addictive world.
If you know about Twilight and don't like the books, you may still enjoy the movie since it is succinct (unlike the books).
I rate it excellent with 5 stars and think it would be a perfect gift or just a great addition to your own DVD collection.
