Description

The End Begins

Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright, a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

Review by Noel on 28th December, 2009
3 stars "Good, but not great"

This new Terminator film is not bad by any stretch of the imagination. But, and this is a big but, it fails to get anywhere near the brilliance of the first two films. The reliable Christian Bale puts in another good performance, Sam Worthington is good too and Anton Yelchin is also good as a young Kyle Reese.

They have left it open to continue the franchise, and I have heard the next film will see the return of the T-1000 Terminator first seen in T2. Perhaps they should take the time to study the first two films to discover what made them so great, and then try and replicate this in the next film.
