Description

This great box set contains the 2 Disc Special Editions of Episode I, Episode II and Episode III.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace:
Set thirty years before the original STAR WARS film, Episode 1 introduces young Anakin Skywalker, a boy with special powers, unaware that the journey he is beginning will transform him into the evil Darth Vader. Obi-Wan Kenobi, the wise old Jedi from the original series, is a determined young apprentice and Palpatine, well known as the evil Emperor, is an ambitious Senator in the Galactic Republic. It is a time when the young Jedi Knights are the guardians of peace in a turbulent galaxy and a young Queen fights to save her people. In the shadows lurks an evil force waiting for the right moment to attack.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones:
Ten years after the events of The Phantom Menace, the galaxy has undergone significant change, and so have familiar heroes Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman) and Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen). They are thrown together again for the first time since the Trade Federation invasion of Naboo, and Anakin has grown into the accomplished Jedi apprentice of Obi-Wan, who has transitioned from student to teacher. The two Jedi are assigned to protect Padmé, whose life is threatened by a faction of political separatists. As relationships form and powerful forces collide, these heroes face choices that will impact not only their own fates, but the destiny of the Republic.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith:
After three long years of relentless fighting, the Clone Wars are nearly at an end. The Jedi Council despatches Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) to bring the deadly leader of the Separatist droid army to justice. Meanwhile, back on Coruscant, Chancellor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) has grown in power. His sweeping political changes transform the war-weary Republic into the mighty Galactic Empire. To his closest ally, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), he reveals the true nature of power and the promised secrets of the Force in an attempt to lure him to the dark side.

5 stars "From Cute Kid to Darth Vader in just 3 movies"

Jar-Jar-Binks aside (yes he is an annoying computer generated character – but anyone under 6 will enjoy him – & he only spolis the first movie, ok?) these 3 prequels to the classic STAR WARS movies are a great companion to the originals. Sure, without the pirate humour of anti-hero Han Solo, they lack some humour & a little swash & buckle. But, as a story of a boy who grows to be a promising young man & then, seduced by the dark side, eventually becomes Darth Vader – this is almost a children's fairytale version of Francis Ford Coppola's THE GODFATHER. The first movie is strictly for kids. Great special effects. Fast moving. Wonderful pod race scene. But it's the 2nd & most especially the dark 3rd movie that really delve deeper into Anakin Skywalker & his inexorable slide to the Dark Side of his nature. The 3rd movie is a real treat & a great opener for films 4, 5 & 6. So, forget the hype. Forget the long wait & the huge expectations that no film could ever hope to live up to – settle back & enjoy the story & some of the greatest DVD extras to be compiled since Peter Jackson's LORD OF THE RINGS special editions. Adz

5 stars "From Adorable Innocent kid to the Evil Darth Vader"

A great box set to grab if you dont have them all. These 3 Prequels are my favourite I prefer CGI to animatronics but thats me. I think they intended Episode 1 to be targted at a new younger generation of star wars fans by including a character such as Jar Jar Binks who has got to be the worst character put into the star wars Series thank god he only interferes in mostly Episode 1 aside from him The series in my mind is great. Sadiest moment, even though I know it had to come, was when you see the montage of jedi being slain. The only thing i wanted more from these movies was more background on the war itself (Republic vs Sepertists) and more backstory on the other jedi. I know you could find some of this in books and the net. but i would rather have seen it fleshed ot in the movies. I was however glad to see they decided to cover the war between Episode II and III in the animated series the Clone wars, but like i said I still wanted more.

4 stars "3 good movies for a great price"

Well, OK, I don't like these as much as the first three movies, but my boys absolutely love them, plus they are visually spectacular. Definitely worth buying and watching, and pick up the Clone Wars as well – top rate cartoons
