In fact, the first handful of episodes rehash the webisodes…I have a lot of respect for what the filmmakers are doing with “Sanctuary” in terms of taking a new step to the future of television. The creator of the series, Damian Kindler has an admirable amount of experience particularly with television Sci-Fi. He is an accomplished script writer with series such as ‘Stargate SG-1’, Stargate: Atlantis’, and ‘Earth: Final Conflict among his credits. There are a few unusual and notable aspects about this series that put its origins and continued production into category of unique. Instead of the typical pilot this series began as a string of webcasts. It is also one of the most environmentally aware shows around taking ‘green’ to another level. The episodes are recorded directly to hard drive storage requiring no film or other disposable media. The sets are entirely virtually created with almost all principle photography done in front of a green screen.
