Welcome back to Portlandia. Starring Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, season two takes viewers on a trip into the creators' dreamy rendering of Portland, Oregon and its colourful inhabitants.
Along with returning favourites, season two introduces viewers to: an intoxicating mixologist, a couple obsessed with Battlestar Galactica, an artisanal knot maker, a woman who kidnaps her favourite band, an adult babysitter, a group of rats eager to raid Portland's packaging-free grocery store and a line for Portland's most popular brunch restaurant which becomes so long it descends into madness.
Season two guest stars include: Ed Begley Jr., Jeff Goldblum, Penny Marshall, Jack McBrayer, Edward James Olmos, Tim Robbins, Andy Shamberg, Eddie Vedder and Kristin Wiig. Shot entirely on location in Portland, the series was created and is written by Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein and Jonathan Krisel.

Portlandia Series 2 Review
"Oregon may have been the 33rd state to join our union — and Portland may be its most populous city — but Portlandia is a state of mind. And according to the surreal IFC sketch series created by stars Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein and director Jonathan Krisel, that state of mind is happily stuck in the simpler time represented by the ’90s.
Armisen and Brownstein co-star in almost every sketch, and each segment lasts no more than five minutes. That shrewdly gives the audience multiple opportunities to laugh within one episode even if a particular concept isn’t working or is too bizarre…Portlandia is the result of a group of incredibly creative people poking fun at subjects near and dear to their hearts. The show, however, is not quirky just for the sake of being quirky…it’s quirky for very specific reasons.
Season 2 is an improvement over the first season — if only for the instant classic “One Moore Episode” — but I also realize Portlandia is not for everyone. I personally can’t wait to see what Fred, Carrie and Co. have in store for season 3." upcomingdiscs.com
