For 15-year-old Tetsunosuke Ichimura, childhood innocence has given way to a blinding thirst for revenge. Haunted by the vicious slaying of his parents, Tetsu decides to seek out the Shinsengumi, an elite group of swordsmen sworn to protect the capital. "Great, in Japanese"
I love this show. It is one of my favorites in my dvd collection. It is an imaginative blend of Comedy, Drama, Romance and Action.The story takes place during the feud between the Shinsengumi clan and the Chōshū clan. It is told from the viewpoint of Tsesunoske, a young page serving the Shinsengumi clan. The animation is also extremely pretty. The one bit of advice I would give to purchasers of Peacemaker is to watch it in Japanese, with the subtitles on. Although I usually watch anime with the English dub, this show is an exception. The some of the dub voices are fine, but a lot of characters use southern accents, which completely ruins the traditional Japanese feel of the show. The show is much more enjoyable and the voices fit better in the Japanese dub.
