Description

Sam Bell is nearing the completion of his 3-year-long contract with Lunar Industries, mining Earth's primary source of energy on the dark side of the moon. Alone with only the base's vigilant computer Gerty as his sole companion, Bell's extended isolation has taken its toll. He longs to return home, but a terrible accident on the lunar surface leads to a disturbing discovery that contributes to his growing sense of paranoia and dislocation so many miles away from home.

5 stars "Good old fashioned science fiction"

when watching the beginning of the movie i thought it was a bit slow moving but after the movie finished i thought wow! all sci fi fans will love this. with minimal special effects sam rockwell stunned me. i completley forget he was playing the same characters. sci fi at it's old fashioned best. thought provoking.

5 stars "The most under-rated film ever. "

This is by far the greatest film ever made. The acting and storyline is incredible. The soundtrack is perfect. A perfect 10.

3 stars "Interesting way to man the moon..."

I wasn't sure what I was getting here. The write-up promised something different. I was thinking alien conspiracy – I was wrong. I worked out what was going on probably about mid-point. For most of the movie there is one person (Sam Bell) and a robot (Gertie). Sam goes out on the surface in his lunar vehicle and things go wrong and he crashes. Sam is alone on the moon, with a robot that can't leave the base building. He wakes up in the base hospital, but who rescued him- Was he rescued- Is he alone- No he isn't alone, but there is no-one else but Sam there… It was quite a sad thing when we realise what is going on…what happens at the end of the ‘contract’. It all makes sense in a cynical profit-seeking company kind-of-way. But every human being is valuable – even Sam Bell. Worth a look certainly…as I say, it is an interesting idea.

5 stars "Excellent"

This is an enjoyable film to watch. Good acting, and interesting plot, and delivered in a manner that doesn't insult the audience or steal shamelessly from other movies.

5 stars "Well worth the purchase."

Sam Rockwell is amazing, his performance alone makes this dvd a worth while watch. This sci fi movie might not be everyones cup of tea but I loved it.
