"An excellent guy-drama."
This movie is a guy drama. Thats not a bad thing though. The story centers around Clint Eastwood as a retired auto factory worker and war veteran dealing with the recent loss of his wife and the arrival of his new neighbors.
I found the acting to be very well done and the plot was excellent. You could make an educated guess as to general plot progression and you will be fairly accurate but that's true for almost every movie these days.
The movie used a few cliches but I found these to be amusing and not insulting like some of the more pretentious movie reviewers would.
Overall, an excellent movie that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This is an AMAZING movie. You get sent on an emotional rollercoaster ride as you see how a proud and old-fashioned man learns to accept new races and cultures in his small American town. He befriends a young Asian girl and watches as her family struggles with everyday life.

Description

The film marked Eastwood's return to a lead acting role after four years (his previous leading role was in Million Dollar Baby). The film features a large Hmong American cast, as well as one of Eastwood's younger sons, Scott Eastwood. Eastwood's oldest son, Kyle Eastwood, provided the score.

Gran Torino is by far one of the best movies that I saw last year there is just the right amount of action, emotion and comedy.
Acting was really good all around. Clint was by far the best, but the acting from the lesser characters was still very good, if not better than I had been expecting from some of the other reviews I had read.
Overall this is Clint Eastwood at his prime.
