Description

Julian Fellowes' hit drama Downton Abbey returns with all the regular cast including Dame Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Brendan Coyle, Joanne Froggatt and Dan Stevens.

Returning to Downton Abbey in 1916, we see the effects of The First World War on the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who work for them. The new series sees the return of all the much loved characters whose intertwined lives are rendered more complicated by wartime and its impact on the great house itself. And when the storms of war have finally cleared, will the way of life known by all the inhabitants of Downton have changed forever?

4 stars "good show "

way to short for my liking with only 8 episodes not really a tv show more of a mini series and it never finished the season off but the show is lovely and your find you self saying lots of oh no's why they do that or what are you up now. lots of things happening though out the house. if you loved the first then you will like this one more

5 stars "Drama at its best!"

A fabulous window on life during the First World War as it affected society particularly the class divide. With an emergent change in rules and expectations, life would never be the same again. Maggie Smith stole the show for me. I couldn't wait for her one-liners! The costumes, furnishings and attention to detail for the period were wonderful. I was bereft when it finished!
