"The life of George"
For those who don't know larry david co-creator of seinfeld based the “george” character on himself. If like me you own all seinfeld dvd's you will see in a number of interviews with larry david he is so like george it's not funny.
Larry is similar to “Basil Fawlty” from fawlty towers in that he just goes about things the wrong way, many cringe moments and out loud laughter.
If you enjoyed “george” and his crazy thinking this is a must watch.
"Very great show."
At first I thought this show was a bit lame, but after watching it on TV I discovered it was very very funny.
Larry seems to run into problems everywhere he goes. He gets into verbal fights with random people, and can never avoid tragedy. He doesn't get along with most people, which usally causes probelms for him. Basicly he's a total Jackass, but its funny :)
The characters are great, and the story lines couldn't be better.
"Off beat and funny, the real 'show about nothing'"
The unfortunate timing of events for this poor “schlep” lead to funny scenes, and you'd have sympathy for him EXCEPT for the fact that he can't seem to stop undermining himself as well. Sometimes likeable, sometimes a curmudgeon, I think this first season was just about making the idea work. Although funny, a lot of the episodes end abruptly and left me with a sense that they just couldn't wrap up all the bits nicely, but ran out of time. IF you're a fan of the show like me, you'd have to have this DVD for a complete collection. If you want one season out of the six, this wouldn't be the season I recommend to a newbie.

Curb Your Enthusiasm also co-stars Jeff Garlin (also an executive producer) as Larry's manager, Jeff Greene; and Cheryl Hines as Larry's wife, Cheryl. Celebrity guest stars playing themselves include Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Richard Lewis and Kathy Griffin, among others. Curb Your Enthusiasm" proves how seemingly trivial details of one's day-to-day life--a trip to the movies, a phone call, a television advertisement jingle--can precipitate a "Murphy's Law" chain reaction of hilarious misfortune. David's "character" has a knack for getting himself into awkward situations that frequently alienate him from family and friends.
To keep the narrative fresh and spontaneous, the show is shot without a script; cast members are given scene outlines, and the y improvise dialogue. The result is an unpredictable format that's unlike anything else on television.
