I wasn't expecting much from this, but my partner is a fan. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The mystery of the week is always interesting, but the strong characters make the show even more appealing.

Bones follows the activites of Dr Temperance Brennan, a forensic anthropologist working at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington. In essence, it is the same as any other crime series on TV at the moment, but what sets it apart is its great range of characters. The relationship between Bones and the FBI agent Booth makes the show. After CSI: Las Vegas, this is probably the best crime show around.

This show is pure genius. Dr Temperance Brennan works alongside Special Agent Seely Booth (who fondly calls Brennan by the nickname “Bones”) solving crimes where all that's left of the victims are skeletal remains. With Brennan's talented team of “squints” and Booth's excellent interrogation techniques, they rarely leave cases unsolved. The best part about this show is how easy it is to form a relationship with the characters. Then there's the question you will constantly ask yourself, adding thrill to every episode, does Booth and Brennan's relationship go beyond friendship? A highly recommended show though some of the more gruesome parts wouldn't be suitable for younger children. FIVE STARS!!
