An amazing collection of photos, many unseen.

Great Book. Wonderful but sad photos. Brought one for each of my children for their keepsake boxes as it was a big part of our lives and still is. Thank you to all the hard work the emergency services did. This book is just a small insight into what they had to do and saw.

If you want one book to show the damage though photos, this is the book to buy, I have brought 5 over the last year. Make great gifts too.

When I was growing up in ChCh from 1940 on, I thought the city I knew would always be there. I have a book of ‘Old Christchurch’ from it's very beginning and now a graphic reminder of what earthquakes, always a worry in ChCh, can do to solid buildings. This collage of photos, put together by the police, is a little piece of history in our time.

A great reminder of the tragedy of Christchurch with beautiful pictures with out “cashing in on the disaster”

Packed full of great images which portray the devastation throughout the city. Seeing some excellent captured images at ground zero truly hits home.

It took me awhile before I wanted to look at the photos in this book, really bought back the emotions. A nice pictorial and will probably look at again sometime soon.

Went down so well as a gift, I know others who seen it also went out and purchased this book as well.

Excellent book, great photography. A very sad reminder of such destruction and the terrible loss of lives. Will recommend to others.

This book is filled with the most amazing images that capture the part of the Christchurch earthquake that very few people got to see. The images are of destruction, damage and sadness but also of hope, bravery and courageousness. Truly an amazing book.

Such raw photos of a tragic nature disaster. A testament to the photographers who shot them. And to have all proceeds go to a children's trust is a lovely tribute to those who didn't survive. A touching book that will bring tears to your eyes.

Something to keep for generations

It is too soon for me fully read this book, but a big thanks for the photos which will be all part of the process of moving on. Thank you to all of the SAR personal and the wonderful work they did – 22.2 will be a day that I will never forget.

As above but it's not until times of tragedy that we really appreciate the not so glamorous tasks that these people do. Remember that these people are human too.

Sent overseas to family.

What wonderful photography. Also the reality of what the Police, Firemen, Ambulance, and other rescuers went through, absolutely amazing. I only hope no other city in New Zealand has to go through this disaster. Thankyou for this wonderful book.

A chillingly stunning collection of photographs that show life behind the cordon during rescue and recovery.

The people of Christchurch have really been to hell and back. The pics in this book are just so devastating. I think all New Zealanders should see this book for its reality of what can happen at any time anywhere in New Zealand

A beautiful book, but very heart wrenching and eye opening to see such devastation in one book with photos taken by the Police.

This is by far the best book on the EQ out there, the Police have done a fantastic job. if u r going to buy any book on the eq this is the “must have”

A well produced hard cover book with images from within the red zone after the Feb 22 quake.

Most images haven't been published before. They give a true sense of the devastation and the conditions respose teams worked in. I found the images of the Japanese USAR team honouring the dead very moving.

My only quibble is the emphasis on the CTV and PGC buildings, but with most fatalities at those sites, I can understand why.

Well worth buying.

If you wondered what inside the cordon looked like this book tells an amazing story through its pictures. This book will remain on my coffee table for all to see. Glad I ordered another copy for a gift, and people who have seen my book have also gone and bought copies. A must have!

I love all the photos in this book. Showed what our great city has been through and how it will never be the same again. Thank you to the police for putting this together, will be good to look through in years to come.
