A different album from his last. Very laid back and chilled in a good way. Best guest artists are definately Tyler, the creator & Ab-soul. Lyrical content not thought provoking but his flow and beats saves this slightly. Worth a listen. Also note Mac doesn't use Earl Sweatshirt's feature wisely. Give him his own verse not chorus line or don't put him on your album at all. Maybe Mac was scared Earl would get all the attention/glory.

Description

Pittsburgh born Mac Miller released his first mixtape at the age of 15, but really came to the world's attention with the ‘K.I.D.S.’ (Kicking Incredibly Dope Shit) mix tape, inspired at least in part by the hard hitting 1995 Larry Clark movie ‘Kids’, which Rostrum records put out in 2010.

The buzz generated by this new talent saw his first major live run ‘The Incredibly Dope Tour’ selling out across the USA. 2011 saw him release both the ‘Best Ever Day’ Mixtape which spawned the tracks ‘Donald Trump’ and ‘Best Day Ever’. The ‘On And On And Beyond’ EP followed, along with the first ever ‘proper’ single ‘Knock Knock’. Miller also collaborated with Maroon 5 on a remix of their global hit ‘Moves Like Jagger’.

By the end of 2011 this body of work and a growing fan base lead into the release of his debut full length album on Rostrum Records ‘Blue Slide Park’ in November 2011.

This debuted at #1 in the US with a remarkable 144,000 copies sold over the counter, and became the first independently released long player to hit the #1 spot since The Dogg Pounds ‘Dogg Food’ way back in 1995.

‘Watching Movies With The Sound Off’ has a stellar cast list and features performances from Schoolboy Q and Ab Soul from the Black Hippy collective (which spawned Kendrick Lamar), Odd Future's Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler The Creator and further pitch ins from Cam'Ron and Mr Snoop Lion (nee Dogg).

Production duties came by Mac Miller in conjunction with Pharrell Williams, Diplo and Flying Lotus.
