Description

With classics such as Heard It Through The Grapevine, What A Man and Ill Take You There performed by one of the films stars, Jessica Mauboy, THE SAPPHIRES Soundtrack is shaping up to be one of the biggest albums of the year.
Jessica Mauboy lends her incredible vocals to many of the tracks including soul classics such as What A Man, I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch), Land of 1000 Dances and Who’s Loving You and the catchy first single, Gotcha, an original song penned by Jessica Mauboy (with Louis Schrool and Ilan Kidron from the Potbelleez) for the film, which draws it’s inspiration from the sounds of the 60’s.
Set in 1968, music is integral to the feel good Aussie film that follows four young Aboriginal girls; ‘The Sapphires’, through a turbulent time in history set to the backdrop of some of the greatest hits of the era.
