The original, multi million selling electric string quartet, Bond, shook up the world of classical crossover at its launch. The quartet is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary and is back with a brand new album, Play.
The quartet was recently commissioned by a major car brand to arrange and produce a special “Bond” version of the Four Seasons. This exhilarating re-working of Vivaldi's classic work marked the stating point of Play.
This new album draws its inspiration from classical, latin, folk, jazz, rock, pop, electro, Indian and middle eastern styles and as well as embracing plenty of original material, presents a pop/classical version of AR Rahman's Jai Ho, a rewiring of the original string line from the Rolling Stones, The Last TIme (better known as The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony) and a Bondesque version of Pump It. The quarter decided to re-record a new version of its original hit, Victory, in celebration of its anniversary and the surprising final track is a fast drive through five of Lady Gaga's best-known songs!
