"Well worth the investment"
This collection of 100 top New Zealand songs (as voted by members of APRA) gives pretty good coverage to most significant Kiwi songs from the latter part of the 20th century. The three CDs, bundled together this way, are excellent value and packed with memories for anyone over the age of 25.
The bonus DVD containing 60 of the 100 songs on the music CDs, is however, a little frustrating. Navigation to each song is via a four -page menu on the DVD, and there is no ability to search or do anything else constructive to personalise selection from the 60 non-remastered, low-resolution, music videos.
When your choice is limited to only 100 songs out of hundreds, you are going to miss some out!
Bruce Sergent, who runs a well-respected kiwi music website, lists a further 33 songs [at http://sergent.com.au/…atop100.html ] that might worth a music publisher's trouble to submit as part of a list including other additional number one hits missed from the first three volumes, for APRA voting to add a fourth volume of music…

Although I am puzzled at the high placing and inclusion of some songs, on the whole this CD collection is an accurate portrait of N.Z music through the decades. It is a must-have for any music lover. The packaging is exquisite, and the DVD of music videos is simply amazing. From John Rowles to Fur Patrol, I guarantee that this collection will have something to please everyone.
