UK’s outstanding label LTM Recordings revisits their ongoing Auteur Labels series, exploring Rob’s Records, the label set up in 1989 by the former Joy Division/New Order manager & Factory Records partner, Rob Gretton.
The man behind the success of the famed Hacienda nightclub, Gretton stuck to his independent roots in setting up the label, running it from an office out of his own home & later, from empty space above The Hacienda. Indifferent to generic baggy Madchester styles, Gretton signed & released records from the likes of Mr Scruff, Roy Davis Jnr, A Certain Ratio, Sub Sub, The Beat Club, Strangebrew, J-Walk, Rack-It!, Anambi, Spacer IV & Digital Justice, all of whom are represented on this outstanding compilation!
