You Know You're From Christchurch When...

Totally enjoyed this book. Shared it with work colleagues and it put a smile on our faces – something good to come out of a very scary very frightening and for many, a very sad event. The one liners are classics … Definitely a “must buy” – and the additional benefit of contributing to a worthy cause “The Earthquake Appeal” is a bonus .

Thank goodness those of us living in Christchurch still have our sense of humour and fun left intact, cos everything else is broken, sorry. munted. Especially enjoyed the toilet humour, cos truthfully, there is nothing funny about emptying a chemical toilet – ok, gagging and vomiting is a little funny.

If you haven't got this one you are an big pile of liquefaction! This book is so funny I cried! The quake is a tragic part of New Zealand's history now and this book is testament to the people who made it through and how they got through it.

Ok… full disclosure… I'm biased. Biased, because I am from Christchurch and biased because one of the quotes is mine.

That aside this book is great for two reasons, in a grim situation it shows true human spirit to rise above the pity parties and have a laugh. A laugh at the situation, others and ourselves.
Also the donation that will go towards the mayoral fund to help those who are having trouble laughing because they are too busy trying to find a loo that doesn't look the the Tardis.

After experiencing the devastating earthquakes it is fantastic to be able to read quotes from others who have also been through it and have a good laugh ! the hard part is choosing your favorite quote :)
