5 stars "Not just for Mums - Dads get some secret hints too.."

I watched my wife tear open the parcel, open the book and read it cover to cover the same night. I'm not sure if it was her look of ‘don't interrupt me’ or the ocassional sly smile and giggles, or that she would glance my way and fold down the corner of the page as a reminder to her (or me?) that did it, but as soon as she put the book down, I picked it up.

And I'm so glad I did. This book has solid, practical and realistic advise for parents of both sexes. Nigel Latta writes in a very down to earth and coversational tone. With plenty of case studies that you quickly relate to, this is an excellent book for everyday parents who cope most of the time but feel that their kids just get the better of them some days, or parents where it is all getting way out of control.

Nigel gives easy to read, sensible, modern advice and explains the tools you need to make your relationship with you kids better TODAY.

4 stars "Great read for all Mums"

I really enjoyed the style of writing – it gives practical humourous advice for all mums. In todays politically correct world it basically reinforces what we all know but tells us its OK to let our boys be boys.
Has suggestions for all types of boys – and there are lots of different types – and all are easy steps to achieve.

4 stars "A Common Sense Parenting Book with the 'PC' stuff."

A great guide for mum's with boys. This book is funny, very information, without too much ‘psychological babble’. Easy read, and well worth it if you have sons, of any age.

Description

Why are boys so noisy? Why do they break things? Why are they fascinated with things that can burn, blind and cripple them? Why do they lose the gift of speech and get so smelly at adolescence? All this and more is revealed, with some surprising conclusions about what we think we know about the differences between boys and girls, and a few tilts at sacred cows. With practical examples and case studies to help all mothers raising boys, there's particular comfort for single mothers worried about the lack of men in their son's lives. Whether you're a mum, a harassed grandparent, or a guardian raising boys who may not be your sons but are your boys all the same, this book's for you. If you want effective strategies instead of platitudes, real solutions instead of catch-phrases, and a book with chapters on 'What mums want', 'It turns out Dad's not lazy, it's in his genes', 'Throwing like a girl', 'Lion taming: managing boys' behaviour', 'How to be a cool mum' and 'Trouble in Shoe-topia', then welcome to the real world of raising boys.
