4 stars "Read Julia Child's ' My Life in France' and had to have her book"

The volumes are well-written, easy to understand and give variations on the basic recipe, making the dish your own.
There is often a description of the equipment used and, because it is an up-dated version of the original Volume 1 edition printed in 1961,Mrs Child is not afraid to use ‘modern’ tools.
With a history of traditional cooking practices for many local dishes and drawings to assist understanding the methods, these books are also entertaining.
From simple daily dishes to ideas for a banquet, this duo contains a wealth of recipes for every cook to try – and I intend to delve deep!
