Farewell Footrot Flats!
After more than 30 years as the showcase of Kiwi humour, Wallace Cadwallader Footrot, the Dog and their mates are saying cheerio. The Long Weekender is Murray Ball's final Footrot Flats title - a collectors' edition of Murray Ball's classic "double deckers".
This is a compilation of the weekend cartoons Ball published throughout his career. It includes a number of cartoons that have never been published in book form, as well as some never seen in New Zealand.
The Long Weekender also incorporates a number of unique, and often rare, Footrot Flats 'photographs'. In these, Murray has drawn iconic Footrot Flats characters Dog, Wal, Dolly et al onto full-colour photographic backgrounds.
Complete with Murray's trademark witty and original introduction, The Long Weekender is a beautiful work of rare Footrot Flats material that every collector or Footrot Flats fan must have.
