Description

A beautifully produced collector's edition incorporating the very best of the hugely successful Kiwi icon - Footrot Flats. More than 500 pages, which will carry almost 1500 cartoon strips. Selected and introduced by author and illustrator Murray Ball. For the first time in print, Murray shares the inspiration and background of the characters, landscapes and activities that make up Footrot Flats. Murray's commentary includes information on long puzzled-over Footrot Flats features such as why the Dog is not named, why the farm is called Footrot Flats, whether the characters are based on real people and animals, and much more.

"Worth every penny paid!"

I ordered this book as a Birthday present from the family, but the Wife grabbed it when it arrived 5 days early, and she hid it. I looked everywhere as I couldn't wait to read it, but she is a sneaky old tart and I couldn't find it, so had to wait. The anticipation grew and finally, it was the day. I was not dissapointed! The book is everything it was said to be. It has a lot of explanantions of why Murray chose the personalities of the characters and what they were based on. It is very well presented and it is very easy to get immersed into the Dogs world. This edition gets pride of place on the book shelf, and I can guarantee that I will be reading it multiple times. I also guarantee that if someone wants to borrow it, they will be told to go and get their own copy. Well done Murray Ball!!!
