2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
Salt and freshly ground blackpepper to season
4 slices toast-cut bread (wholemeal or white)
Butter to grease
Maple syrup or grilled bacon to serve

Cut each slice of bread in half on the diagonal to give two triangles.

Melt a little butter in a frying pan over a low-medium heat.

Dip bread triangles in milk, one at a time. Place in frying pan and cook for about 2 minutes until golden on underside.

Turn and cook for a further z minutes until golden. Serve with a drizzle of maple syrup or with grilled bacon.

5 stars "The perfect first recipe book for kids."

The Edmonds cookbook is a classic. My grandparents used the original deluxe 1955 edition, my parents used the revised 1980 edition and I use the 1998 version I was given when I went flatting. Now my 6yo daughter uses the Beginners version. These are straight forward recipes that are presented in an easy child-friendly format. Perfect for new immigrants or children. A great intro before they step up to the real Edmonds Cookbook.
