Description

Around the world Sir Edmund Hillary is a legendary figure - climber, bold adventurer, practical philanthropist and one of the most widely respected persons of our time. He has survived extremes of human experience - from historic triumphs to crushing personal loss - but he sees himself as an ordinary man, persistent rather than heroic. This book focuses on the highlights of his life, including: Conquering Everest, Journeying to the South Pole by tractor, Himalayan adventures, Philanthropist to the Sherpa people. 5 stars "Incredible man acurately honoured in this fascinating book."

Truly well written book with so many inspirational stories. There are so many things that Sir Ed achieved quietly but so passionately that I had no idea about. It also reflected his keen sense of humour & incredible work ethic.
