Description
V For Vendetta is based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore and has been adapted for the big screen by The Matrix’s Andy and Larry Wachowski.
Set against the futuristic landscape of a totalitarian Britain, the movie tells the story of a mild-mannered young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) who is rescued from a life-and-death situation by a man (Hugo Weaving) known only as “V” - a striking figure in a black cloak and a high-peaked hat under which he wears a curious mask. Incomparably charismatic and ferociously skilled in the art of combat and deception, V ignites a revolution when he urges his fellow citizens to rise up against tyranny and oppression.

"V for Virtuous"
I saw it at the movies and I saw it again on DVD but I just had to own V for Vendetta on Blu-ray. As well as being a superb film and one of my all time favourites it is a gorgeous film which is only enhanced with Blu-ray. The Blu-ray extras are excellent especially Natalie Portman's SNL skit which seems out of context but hysterical. Together Director James McTeigue and writers Andy & Lana Wachowski (The Matrix) are honourable to the original Comic from Alan Moore (Watchmen). Hugo Weaving's unmistakable voice is perfect for the character V. Natalie Portman is stunning and beautiful and her performance is unforgettably heart wrenching, a very powerful and emotional actress. The supporting cast are equally as good. I love this movie so much I watch it every 5th of November and now I can watch it in 1080 HD the way it was meant to be experienced.
The only verdict is V+V=X

"Twisted and dark"
Great movie, Natalie Portman is convincing and V is dark and myseterious. I recommend this movie to all my friends.

V is amazing. The mystery and suspense is so well portrayed that you really feel sorry for Natalie Portmans character. I do keep on expecting V to come out with a “Mr Anderson” line though :p
"Stylish violence with culture - love it"
This translation of a graphic novel is executed with panache and grabs you even if the novel is unfamiliar. It has a style of its own and performances to match. Recommended.

Bought this movie on DVD, loved it. Unfortunately it was borrowed by a flatmate and never came back. Perfect excuse to upgrade to Blu Ray.
