A young girl (Baby Doll) is locked away in a mental asylum by her abusive stepfather where she will undergo a lobotomy in five days' time. Faced with unimaginable odds she retreats to a fantastical world in her imagination where she and four other female inmates at the asylum plot to escape the facility. The lines between reality and fantasy blur as Baby Doll and her four companions as well as a mysterious guide fight to retrieve the five items they need that will allow them to break free from their captors before it's too late…
When I went to see ‘Sucker Punch’ at the cinemas I didn't go in expecting another ‘Inception’ as most people seem to compare this film to. I went in expecting a Zack Snyder film (a film that is visually stunning and entertaining but doesn't necessarily hold up in the story department) and that is EXACTLY what ‘Sucker Punch’ delivered. I went in with an open mind kind of knowing how the film would be (think ‘300’ and ‘Watchmen’) and I was thoroughly entertained with the exception of Vanessa Hudgens (I'm sorry, but YOU completely ruined this film from being a 5/5) I actually wanted to throw something at the screen during her (thankfully) very few scenes of dialogue… BLAH! A beautiful, rich and VERY entertaining film, don't listen to the critics and see this for yourself. Again I would give it 5/5 but Vanessa Hudgens just ruins it (I wonder if they could edit her out for the Ultimate Cut) :L
Love this film to bits and unlike the other review lol vanessa hudgens is fine :D the story is fine second watch and it all works out. Must Buy the only thing there is a 17 mins xtra in the usa Copy unsure if were getting the same-
The extended cut is so cool! Worth it just for the extended fight scenes. Also a novel approach to the features with some interesting stuff.
Although many others find this movie confusing, I found it to be rather interesting. The concept alone is fantastic and the execution of this visual cinema is nearly awe-inspiring
