And Hellboy, a creature of two worlds who's accepted by neither, must choose between the life he knows and an unknown destiny that beckons him.

"Excellent DVD with awesome extra features"
Excellent film with more Hellboylicious action. The Blu Ray version is sharp, almost hyperclear. The extra features have had alot of thought put into them. Although, there is a bit too much of 'isn't everyone wonderful' in some of the extra clips.
"Fun fantasy/adventure"
Well if you enjoyed the first Hellboy, then you're gonna love this one. Plenty of rock'em sock'em acton and epic battles with other worldly creatues.
Great thing about this movie, is that they only use CGI where they have too, and the rest of the time its puppets (some of them 8 feet tall).
I cant tell you how many times I've hit the rewind button to rewatch some of the epic battles. Definitely worth picking up!

"A Picturesque Portrayal of Near-Perfection"
For fans of the original installment, this film is quite simply something to behold. Del Toro (the franchise director) pulls out all the stops (as he did with 'Blade 2') and we are witness to his wizardry. The fantastical world of Hellboy 2 is perhaps the most creative amidst a previously unimagined theatre of thought Del Toro has been able to tap into, and like his former feature, 'Pan's Labyrinth', what you begin to see is something quite spectacular.
The actors here have reprised their roles and subsequently, these characters are subject to some seriously surreal surroundings. And I'm just referring to standard definition. This Blu-Ray, High-Def copy moves beyond what is confined within the Hollywood framework, and places the audience in amongst the action.
Essentially, Hellboy 2 becomes for its audience an incursion into a wonderfully well-worked world.
The actors here have reprised their roles and subsequently, these characters are subject to some seriously surreal surroundings. And I'm just referring to standard definition. This Blu-Ray, High-Def copy moves beyond what is confined within the Hollywood framework, and places the audience in amongst the action.
