Description

From the pen of award-winning writer Julian Fellowes comes the second series of hit drama, Downton Abbey, starring Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern.

The lives of the Crawley family and the servants who work for them have been changed forever since the Great War was declared at the end of the last series … but the bloody battles aren't confined to the trenches as rivalries and passions run even deeper at Downton Abbey.

Promoted to Lord Lieutenant of Yorkshire, Robert has new responsibilities and so does Downton. Although the veritable Mr Carson (Jim Carter) will no doubt be doing his utmost to ensure that standards have not slipped, even in the face of war…

4 stars "Why wouldn't you-"

This season is just as great as the first and it all really comes out well on the blu-ray. A great purchase.

Review by Leeanne on 13th January, 2012
5 stars "Brilliant, as good if not better than season 1"

This is the best I have seen in English period drama ever. Production value is excellent, story line superb, characters balanced, believable and not stereotypical. Real characters with flaws and inconsistencies.
